Biography
Belgian-American violist Dimitri Murrath, a Primrose International Viola Competition winner, has graced international stages from the Kennedy Center to Wigmore Hall as a sought-after soloist and recitalist. A member of the Esmé Quartet since 2023 and formerly of the Boston Chamber Music Society, Murrath's passion for chamber music is as vibrant as his solo career. His debut solo album, featuring works by Vieuxtemps, Clarke, and Hindemith, was released in 2017. Currently Professor of Viola and Chair of Chamber Music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Dimitri is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians. He is also actively involved with the Music for Food project, believing in the power of music to create change.
